If you have recently downloaded the app you may have noticed that we give the option to 'skip' account creation when you originally download the app. This allows you to get started connecting to monitors, tracking workouts, and monitoring your activity without creating an account. While you do have the option to use the app without creating a specific account, there are many reasons why creating an account is a better idea. These reasons for creating an account include:
Membership
Your subscription to the app will be stored with the details of your account, which can prevent a variety of subscription-related issues including ensuring that you can use your subscription on a new device. This can be especially helpful when using an Apple Watch as your primary workout tracking device.
Restoring workout history
If you are in the process of upgrading your phone or have unforeseen hardware issues you can rest easy knowing that your workout history and app settings are stored in your account. This means that upon logging into your account on another device all history and settings will populate automatically without needed to store or sync your data separately.
Syncing between devices
If you are using multiple devices (i.e. both an iPhone and an iPad) then creating an account is the best way to ensure that the app continues to behave the way that you want. Your workout history and settings, as well as your membership, can only be synced between devices if you have logged into the same account on those devices.
Participating in the Community
Participating in the Community is a great way to connect with other athletes. To participate in the Community you will need to create an account. This will give you the ability to post, join groups, and participate in challenges.
